Korolev, in the Moscow Region, is home to 200,000 people and the Russian Space Flight Control Center. The city is named after the father of the Russian space program, Sergey Korolev, who lived and worked there.  Korolev is a cluster of aerospace industries, hosting a considerable number of high-tech companies in command of a unique science and technology center.


     Korolev is located to the north-east from Moscow, six kilometers away from the official border of Moscow's metropolitan area.  The city is located along the Yarolslavl highway.  It is only a 35 minute drive by car to Red Square or a 35 minute ride on the bus departing from railway station VDNH in Moscow.  Sheremetevo international airport is 40 minutes away from Korolev by car.
